RADIO - POWER ANTENNA - REPAIR PROCEDURE WITHOUT COMPLETE POWER ANTENNA ASSEMBLY REPLACEMENT
FORD:
1989-91 PROBE
ISSUE:
A repair procedure has been developed so the power antenna mast can be repaired without replacing the complete power antenna assembly. If
the antenna mast is damaged or broken, radio reception is usually adversely affected and the motor may not fully extend or retract the antenna
.
ACTION: If service is required, use the following procedure to install a new service mast assembly.
Some concerns such as failure to fully retract may be caused by dirt, mud or salt accumulating on the mast sections. This can usually be resolved by
cleaning the mast sections with alcohol. Do not lubricate the antenna mast.
