Remove the lock cylinder from the center lens, Figures 2 through 5.

5.

Remove the retainer clip from the lock cylinder.

6.

Remove the lock cylinder lever.

7.

Install the assembled lock cylinder into the center lens.

NOTE:

INSPECT, TIGHTEN AND REPLACE THE LOCK CYLINDER RETAINER SCREWS IF THEY WERE ORIGINALLY LOOSE, SEE
FIGURE 4.

8.

Install the center lens, gasket and lock cylinder assembly.

9.

Before installing the tail lamps and interior trim pieces, check for the correct operation/adjustment of the latch and lock cylinder.

a.

Use the key and, if equipped, the remote liftgate release cable.

b.

Adjust as required.
