ISSUE:
Oil leaking at the rear of the engine may be coming from the rear camshaft core (welsh) plug. Oil leaks in this area are sometimes mistakenly
identified as coming from the rear crankshaft seal.
ACTION:
Check for a leaking rear camshaft core plug. If necessary, install a new camshaft core plug. Refer to the following procedure for service
details.
Before installing a camshaft core plug, inspect the plug bore for any damage that would interfere with proper sealing of the plug. If the bore is damaged,
it will be necessary to true the surface by boring for the next oversize plug. Oversize plugs are identified by the "OS" stamped in the flat located on the
side of the plug.

1. Install the camshaft core plug (F1DZ-6266-A), Figure 1.
a. Use a suitable driver.
b. Apply a light coating of anaerobic sealer (E1FZ-19562-A) on the sealing edge of the plug before installation.
2. Install the flywheel. Tighten the bolts to 59 lb.ft. (80 N-m).
