c. Pull tool up quickly while keeping tool shaft against side of nose opening and remove snap ring. Fig. 27.

Place shaft seal remover tool T89P-19623-BH or equivalent over compressor shaft and push tool into nose of compressor and down against shaft
seal. Engage end of tool with internal diameter of shaft seal and turn handle clockwise to expand tool tip inside seal inner radius, then remove seal.
Installation
1.
Ensure new shaft protector is free of burrs, then lubricate tool with clean refrigerant oil.
2.
Lubricate shaft seal in clean refrigerant oil and place seal over shaft protector. Ensure lip portion of seal is pointed toward large end of protector.

Place protector and seal over end of compressor shaft. Fig. 28.

Using shaft seal installer tool T89P-19623-AH or equivalent, slowly push seal down shaft protector until seated.
5.
Remove replacer tool and shaft protector tool, then install snap ring. After ensuring no external leaks are present, install felt in nose and replace
hub on compressor.
