Check the A/C system for any interference or vibration causing factors.

Make sure the air conditioning pipe from the compressor to the condenser is not interfering with the radiator, Figure 2. If necessary reposition
the A/C pipe to attain enough clearance between the A/C pipe and radiator.
b.
Make sure the cooling fan is not contributing to the idle vibration.

Turn the A/C system on.

Confirm that the compressor clutch and cooling fan are operating.

Inspect the cooling fan mounts for proper position and bolt torque.
6.
Adjust the hood lock if a "rattling" noise comes from the hood. Refer to the 1989 Probe Shop Manual, page 44-08-01 for service details.

Replace the Number 1 & 2 engine mounts with new ones, Figure 3.
