Safety Defect
On some of the cars, the throttle linkages may have been bent during assembly. If the linkage were damaged, the throttle could stick and not return fully
to the idle position after a driver has released the accelerator pedal, creating the risk of a vehicle crash. If the throttle of your car were to stick while you
were driving, you can disengage the engine output by placing the transmission selector level in neutral and stop the vehicle normally by breaking.
Repairs
At no cost to you, your dealer will inspect the throttle linkage of your car and if it is damaged, replace it.
How Long Will It Take?
The time needed to repair your car is about one hour.
Call Your Dealer
Call your dealer without delay and ask for a service date. Your dealer has the service and part ordering information needed to repair your car. If your
dealer does not have the parts in stock, they can be ordered and would be expected to arrive within a week.
If you experience throttle sticking and high rpm after removing your foot from the accelerator pedal of your car, notify your dealer immediately. Do not
continue to drive the car until your dealer has inspected the throttle linkage.
When you bring your car in, give the dealer the included form.
If you misplace the form, your dealer will still do the work, free of charge.

If the dealer doesn't make the repair promptly and without charge, you may either mail Section 3 of the prepaid postcard to us or contact the Ford Parts
