Probe V6-182 3.0L (1990)
INSPECTION AND MODIFICATION INSTRUCTIONS:
1.
Inspect the existing throttle position sensor on the vehicle. If the part number is E7DF-9B989-AA and DOES NOT have a yellow dot, replace the
TP sensor using service part kit F12Z-9B989-DA.
2.
Remove and discard the original TP sensor retaining screws and install new screws provided in the kit. Tighten the new screws to 2.8 - 3.8 N-m
(25 - 33 LB.IN.).
3.
If the part number is NOT E7DF-9B989-AA or the sensor has a yellow dot, it is NOT necessary to replace the TP sensor.
AUTHORIZED MODIFICATIONS DECAL

The preprinted Authorized Modifications Decal shown below is provided in the parts kit.

Insert your P&A code and date and attach to a clean surface on the cooling fan shroud.

Place clear overlay on the decal.

Ford Motor Company is voluntarily recalling certain 1990 and 1991-Model 3.0L engine equipped Probe cars (Emissions Recall 92E21). Your car's
engine may be releasing air pollutants which exceed California standards.
What the Dealer Will Do
At no cost to you, your dealer will inspect and, if necessary, replace the engine throttle position sensor on your car according to the instructions provided
by Ford.
This service should have little or no effect on your car except to reduce air pollutants.
If you do not have this service done,

Your car may not pass emissions or smog tests that may be required in your area,

The California Department of Motor Vehicles may not renew your car's registration.
How long will it take?
The time needed to repair your car is about one hour. However, due to service scheduling times, your dealer may need your car one full working day.
