Differential: Service and Repair
Assembly
NOTE: Whenever a bearing cone is removed, it must be replaced.
1. Install speedometer drive gear and bearing cone, using driver handle T80T-4000-W, or a press and differential bearing cone replacer
T88C-77000-EH or equivalents.
2. Install bearing cone on ring gear end, using driver handle T80T-4000-W and differential bearing cone replacer T88C-77000-EH or equivalents.
3. Install washers, pinions and pinion shaft.
4. Install knock pin, then crimp it to ensure it will not come out of case.
5. Install thrust washers and side gears.
