This TSB is being republished to remove the step instructing the technician to bend the "Blow Out Clip". This article also provides details for installing a
revised glass run blow out clip moulding.
ISSUE:
Windnoise or water leaks at the front door glass area may be caused by one or more of the following items:
^
Door glass that is improperly adjusted.
^
Door glass "blow out clip" that is bent or out of position.
^
Door glass that does not apply enough pressure on the weatherstrip at the side view mirror area.
^
Poor sealing of the door glass to the body weatherstrips (Refer to TSB 90-7-5)
ACTION:
Inspect the "blow out" clip for proper position and, if necessary install a new glass run/blow out clip moulding assembly. Refer to the
following procedure for service details.
Blow Out Clip Inspection
Figure 1
1.
Check the blow out clip for proper position.
2.
If it is bent or contacts the door glass when the door is closed, install a new glass run/blow out clip moulding assembly, Figure 1.
NOTE:
THE REVISED PART DOES NOT HAVE A RELIEF SLOT CUT NEAR THE CLIP. THIS REDUCES THE POSSIBILITY OF
BENDING.
3.
If it is needed, repeat this procedure for the opposite side of the car.
4.
If windnoise or water leak concerns are still present, proceed to the door glass adjustment procedure.
