Removal and Installation Removal WARNING:Do not smoke or carry lighted tobacco or open flame of any type when working on or near any fuel related components. Highly flammable vapors are always present and may ignite. Failure to follow these instructions can result in personal injury. NOTE:It will be necessary to raise the vehicle in order to carry out this procedure. | -
Disconnect the battery ground cable. | | -
Remove the flexible coupling to the steering gear pinion shaft pinch bolt. | | -
Loosen the flexible coupling to the column shaft pinch bolt. | | -
Loosen the front wheel nuts. | | -
Partially lower the front crossmember. | | -
Detach the exhaust system from the front hanger insulator. | | -
Detach the exhaust system from the center hanger insulator. | | -
NOTE:When detaching the exhaust system allow the system to be supported by the rear suspension assembly. Detach the exhaust system from the three rear hanger insulators. | | -
Remove the center and rear exhaust heat shields. | | -
Detach the fuel supply line from the retaining clips. | | -
Detach the parking brake cable and conduit from the retaining clips. | | -
Detach the fuel supply and return lines from the retaining clips. | | -
NOTE:Fuel supply line connectors are white or are identified by a white band. | | -

To install, reverse the removal procedure. | | |
