Headlamp beam setting equipment

Adjustment

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Before aligning the headlamps, check them for faulty lenses, reflectors or bulbs and renew components as necessary.
    General notes:
    • Follow the operating instructions supplied by the equipment manufacturer.
    • Stand the vehicle on level ground.
    • Align the vehicle with the headlamp beam setting equipment as directed by the equipment manufacturer.
    • Check the pressure of the tyres and correct as necessary.
    • The vehicle must be unladen with a full fuel tank. If the tank is only half full, place a weight of 30 kg in the luggage compartment. In addition, have a person or a 75 kg weight in the driver's seat.
    • Bounce the front and rear of the vehicle several times or roll the vehicle a few meters to settle the suspension.
    • Check the headlamp levelling system by operating it several times, and then set it to ”0".
  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Headlamp alignment must always be carried out with the headlamp levelling system set to ”0".
    Align the headlamps.
    • Set up the screen of the headlamp beam setting equipment for the following headlamp setting (X):X=10 cm/10 m=0°, 34 minutes=1,0 %.

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Adjusting the vertical alignment screw also affects the adjustment of the horizontal alignment.
    Set the dipped beams.
    • Switch on the dipped headlamps.
    1. Vertical alignment screw.
    1. Horizontal alignment screw.

  1. Vertical alignment.
    • Adjust the dipped beams so that the light/dark boundary touches the horizontal line.

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:A stray part of the dipped beam may lie above the 15° line.
    Horizontal alignment.
    • Adjust the dipped beams so that the rising line of the light/dark boundary lies at the point of intersection of the horizontal line and the 15° line.
