WARNING:When pulling off the front upper arm bushings, parts or the SST could be scattered causing serious injury, therefore securely install the SST band (Mazda SST number: 49 U034 210, Global SST number: 204-636). Install the SSTs to the front upper arm. | | | -
Set the front upper arm assembled in Step 1. to the press, then install the SSTs and remove the shaft and upper arm bushings. | Item 2 : Upper arm bushing | | -
Remove the front upper arm bushing remaining on the front upper arm using the SSTs. | | | -
Remove the front upper arm bushing remaining on the shaft using the SSTs. | Installation Details Item 2 : Upper arm bushing | | -
NOTE:Temporarily install the shaft and front upper arm bushings to the front upper arm. | | | -
Assemble the SSTs (49 U034 210). | | | -
Install the SSTs assembled in Step 2. to the front upper arm as shown in the figure. - Use the pins marked A.

NOTE:Align the convex part of the front upper arm with the SST (Mazda SST number: 49 U034 212, Global SST number: 204-638) notch so that press-fit can be performed at a level angle. NOTE:Because the press-in angle of the upper arm bushing depends on the SST installation, install the SSTs so that they are completely aligned with the front upper arm. | | | -
NOTE:Press in the press being careful not to separate the SST from the front upper arm. Press fit either one of the front upper arm bushings using a press and the SSTs. | | | -
Press fit the other upper arm bushing using a press and the SSTs. | |
