303-06 Starting System > < Air Conditioning (A-C) Compressor Belt Adjustment
Accessory Drive - Accessory Drive Belt Adjustment Ranger 2006.5 (05/2006-)
General Procedures

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Carry out the adjustment when the engine is cold, or at least 30 minutes after the engine has stopped.
    Loosen the mounting bolt C and locknut A.
  1. Apply pressure 98 N {10 kgf, 22 lbf} midway between the specified pulleys and measure the belt deflection.
  1. Adjust the belt by turning adjusting bolt B until the belt deflection is correct.
    New* (mm {in}) Used (mm {in}) Limit (mm {in})
    7.4—9.4 {0.30—0.37} 8.7—10.4 {0.35—0.40} 14.3 {0.56} or more

    * A belt that has been on a running engine for less than five minutes.

  1. Tighten the mounting bolt C and locknut A.

  1. Tighten the adjust bolt B.
    • Tightening torque 7.84—9.80 Nm
  1. Check the belt deflection. If the deflection is incorrect, carry out the adjustment from step 1.
