Removal

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
    For additional information, refer to: Battery Disconnect and Connect (414-01 Battery, Mounting and Cables, General Procedures).
  1. Remove the propeller shaft.
    For additional information, refer to: Driveshaft - 4x2 (205-01 Driveshaft, Removal and Installation).

3. Remove the components in the order indicated in the following illustration(s) and table(s).

Removal Details

Item 19 : Transmission
  1. WARNING:
    WARNING:Remove the transmission carefully, holding it steady. If the transmission falls it could be damaged or cause injury.
    Support the transmission securely using a transmission jack.
  1. Remove the transmission installation bolts.
  1. Remove the transmission.
