Air Conditioning - Condenser to Evaporator Line Ranger 2006.5 (05/2006-)
Removal and Installation

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
    For additional information, refer to: Battery Disconnect and Connect (414-01 Battery, Mounting and Cables, General Procedures).
  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:If moisture or foreign material enters the refrigeration cycle, cooling ability will be lowered and abnormal noise will occur. Always immediately plug all open fittings after removing any refrigeration cycle parts to keep moisture or foreign material out of the cycle.
    Discharge the refrigerant from the system.

  1. Remove the radiator grille.
    For additional information, refer to: Radiator Grille (501-08 Exterior Trim and Ornamentation, Removal and Installation).

4. Remove the components in the order indicated in the following illustration(s) and table(s).

5. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

  1. CAUTION:

    Charge the refrigerant system.

  1. Perform the refrigerant system performance test.
    For additional information, refer to: Refrigerant System Tests (412-00 Climate Control System - General Information, General Procedures).

Installation Details

Item 3 : Cooler pipe

  1. When installing a new cooler pipe or hose, add FD46XG compressor oil into the refrigeration cycle.
    • Supplemental amount:
    • Cooler hose (LO): 8 ml {8 cc, 0.3 fl oz}.
    • Cooler hose (HI): 5 ml {5 cc, 0.2 fl oz}.
    • Cooler pipe: 3 ml {3 cc, 0.1 fl oz}.
  1. Apply compressor oil to the O-rings and connect the joints.
  1. Tighten the joints.
    1. Tighten the nut or bolt of the joint by hand.
    1. Tighten the joint to the specified torque. If it is a nut joint, tighten the nut using a spanner and torque wrench.
