T-handle and Button Concern Analysis - The drawings that follow in Figures 20 and 21 should be used to identify concern causal factor(s) and
appropriate corrective action(s).

For the proper T-handle removal and installation procedure, refer to TSB Article No. 82-16-11. These instructions are applicable to both field
assembled handle and button assemblies and permanently pinned preassembled handle and button assemblies. Field feedback suggests T-handle
installation may be easier when the shift lever is positioned in D-2 position.

Later level (January 1983) Ranger automatic transmission "service" shifter assemblies incorporate a new plastic shift lever positioning
"wedge" for shipping and linkage adjustment purposes. The wedge insert should, be left in position until shifter installation and linkage
adjustment is completed. Then the insert must be removed and discarded prior to selector dial reinstallation.
