Ranger 2WD L4-153 2.5L SOHC VIN C SFI (1998)
5. Disconnect the clutch hydraulic line from the transmission using (A) Clutch Coupling Tool.
6. Lower the vehicle.
7. Remove the clutch master cylinder reservoir and clutch master cylinder.

Rotate the clutch master cylinder 45° clockwise.
8. CAUTION: Clean all rubber clutch master cylinder parts with clean Ford High Performance DOT 3 Motor Vehicle Brake Fluid
C6AZ-19542-AB or DOT 3 equivalent meeting Ford specification ESA-M6C25-A.
Clean all clutch master cylinder components.
9. Inspect the clutch master cylinder for:

weak spring.
^
damage to any reservoir components.
^
damaged cups.
^
scored piston.
Installation
1. Lightly clamp clutch master cylinder reservoir in a vise.
2. Fill clutch master cylinder reservoir to full line.
