Inspection and Verification
1. Verify the customer concern.
2. Visually inspect for obvious signs of mechanical or electrical damage.
3. If an obvious cause for an observed or reported concern is found, correct the cause (if possible) before proceeding to the next step.
4. If the concern is not visually evident, verify the symptom. GO to Symptom Chart. See: Symptom Related Diagnostic Procedures

NOTE: The Smart Junction Box (SJB) is also known as the Generic Electronic Module (GEM).
Voltage is supplied at all times by the SJB to the stoplamp switch. When the brake pedal is applied, voltage is supplied to the high mounted stoplamp
and the multifunction switch, which routes the voltage to the rear lamps.
