INSIDE DOOR PULL HANDLE LOOSE - VEHICLES
BUILT BEFORE 11/15/2002 AND EQUIPPED WITH
POWER WINDOWS/DOOR LOCKS

FORD:
2001-2003 Ranger

ISSUE
Some 2001-2003 Ranger vehicles built before 11/15/2002 and equipped with power windows/door locks may exhibit a loose interior door pull handle on
the front door trim panel finish panel.

ACTION
It is not necessary to replace the entire finish panel assembly to resolve the condition. Install a star washer on the door pull handle attaching screws.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

1.

Remove the front door trim panel finish panel. Refer to Workshop Manual Section 501-05.

2.

Remove the screws at each end of the door pull handle and install a # 6 (3.5 mm) "external" star washer on each screw (obtain washers locally).

NOTE

EXTERNAL STAR WASHERS HAVE THE STAR POINTS LOCATED ON THE OUTER EDGE OF THE WASHER. A FLAT WASHER OR A
SPLIT LOCK WASHER WILL NOT RESOLVE THE CONDITION.

3.

Reinstall the front door trim panel finish panel to the door.
