ISSUE
Some Vehicles may exhibit an inability to reach Wide Open Throttle Mode (WOT). This inability to reach WOT can cause a lack of power condition.
This may be caused by the Dash Panel Insulator under the carpet at the accelerator pedal.
ACTION
Use the New Generation Star Tester (NGS) or Worldwide Diagnostic System (WDS) to check for Wide Open Throttle mode. In the KOEO (Key On,
Engine Off) mode, depress the accelerator pedal fully and monitor the Throttle Mode PID. If excessive force on the throttle pedal is needed to reach
WOT, the Dash Panel Insulator under the carpet may be the cause. Refer to the following Service Procedure for details.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
1.
Position carpet to gain access to the area below the throttle pedal.
