Removal and Installation
NOTE: The evaporator core is not separately serviceable, it is serviced only with the evaporator core housing assembly.
NOTE: If an evaporator core leak is suspected, the evaporator core must be leak tested before it is removed from the vehicle.
NOTE: Replacement of the suction accumulator is not required when repairing the refrigerant system except when there is physical evidence of
system contamination from a failed A/C compressor or damage to the suction accumulator.
1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Cooling System/Service and Repair. See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Cooling

2. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Heating and Air Conditioning/Service and Repair. See: Service and Repair
3. Remove the air cleaner outlet pipe. Refer to Powertrain Management/Fuel Delivery and Air Induction/Intake Air Duct/Service and Repair. See:

4. Remove the suction accumulator.
5. Remove the A/C compressor. Refer to Heating and Air Conditioning/Compressor/Service and Repair. See: Compressor HVAC/Service and
Repair
6. Remove the engine oil indicator and tube.
Vehicles with speed control
7. Detach the speed control servo.
1. Disconnect the electrical connector.
2. Remove the bolt.
3. Detach the cable from the evaporator core housing and position aside the speed control servo.
