Remove the retainer washers from the lug nut studs and remove the automatic locking hub assembly from the spindle.
3.
Remove the snap ring from the end of the spindle shaft.

Carefully remove plastic cam assembly off the wheel bearing adjusting nut. Remove the thrust spacer and needle thrust bearing.
6.
Gently try to loosen the adjusting nut with 6.8 N-m (5 ft-lb reverse torque).
a)
If you cannot loosen the nut, the locking key is in place. Reassemble the automatic hub-lock following Steps 10 through 15.
b)
If you can loosen the wheel bearing adjusting nut, then the locking key is missing and a new key must be installed following Steps 7 through
15.

Adjust wheel bearing. While rotating the hub and rotor assembly, tighten the wheel bearing adjusting nut to 47 N-m (35 ft-lbs) to seat the bearings.
Spin the rotor and back off the nut 1/4 turn.
