Dear Owner:
Ford Motor Company has determined that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in certain 1989 Bronco II and Ranger Pick Up Trucks
with four wheel drive and automatic hublocks.
Safety Defect
The left front wheel bearing nut retaining key may not have been installed on your vehicle.
This key is designed to keep the retaining nut from loosening. Should the nut loosen and come off, the wheel could disengage from the axle resulting in
the loss of steering control. Loss of steering control may result in a crash.
Repairs
At no cost to you, we will inspect the left front wheel hub assembly of your truck and if necessary, install a bearing nut retaining key.
How long will it take?
The time needed to repair your truck is about one hour.

Call us without delay and ask for a service date.
We have the service information needed to perform this service. If you notice any change in your steering control bring your truck to us immediately. Do
not continue to drive until we have inspected your left front wheel hub assembly for looseness.
When you bring your truck in, give the Service Department the enclosed form. If you misplace the form, we will still do the work, free of charge.
Changed address or sold the truck?
If you have changed your address or sold the truck, please fill out Section 1 of the enclosed prepaid postcard and mail it to the addressee.
