LIGHT TRUCK:
1995-96 EXPLORER, RANGER
ISSUE:
The radiator may leak coolant on some vehicles in cold ambient temperatures. This may be due to the seal performance in the area between the radiator
end tank and the radiator core assembly.
ACTION:
Install a new radiator which has a revised seal. The revised seal should reduce the possibility of coolant leakage between the radiator end tank and the
radiator core assembly. Refer to the following Service Procedure for details.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
1.
Perform the cooling system diagnosis as outlined in Section 03-03 of the appropriate Service Manual.
2.
If the radiator is found to be leaking or has previous confirmed cold weather leaks, the only repair procedure is to replace the radiator. Refer to the
following Application Chart for correct radiator usage.
3.
Install the radiator following the procedure listed in the appropriate Service Manual.
4.
Service as necessary any other cooling system concerns found in Step 1.
