Wheel Bearing: Adjustments
REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
1. Raise and support front of vehicle.
2. Remove wheel cover, grease cap, cotter pin and locknut.
3. Loosen adjusting nut 3 turns, then lock wheel assembly in and out several times to push brake shoe and linings away from rotor.
4. Torque adjusting nut to 17-25 ft lb while rotating wheel assembly.
5. Loosen adjusting nut 1/2 turn, then retorque to 18-20 inch lbs.
6. Install locknut and cotter pin.
7. Ensure wheel assembly rotates smoothly, then reinstall grease cap and wheel cover and lower vehicle.
