Removal and Installation
REMOVAL
1. Disconnect negative battery cable.
NOTE: When the battery has been disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the powertrain control
module relearns its adaptive strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven 10 miles or more to relearn the adaptive strategy.
2. Remove the wiring harness connector carefully at the intake air temperature sensor and mass air flow sensor.
3. Disconnect air crankcase ventilation hose from nipple on valve cover.
4. Loosen clamps and remove air cleaner outlet tube.
5. Using trim removal tool, remove pushpins and accelerator control splash shield.
Accelerator Cable and Related Components
6. Disconnect accelerator cable from the throttle body. Remove three screws and accelerator cable bracket and position assembled accelerator cable
and accelerator cable bracket out of the way.
