Valve Body: Description and Operation
VALVE BODY CONTROL FUNCTIONS
Solenoid Operation Chart
The control valve functions in these transmissions are controlled by the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) through solenoids mounted in the main
control (valve) body
Automatic shift scheduling is computed by the PCM using inputs from various engine and vehicle sensors and switches. This information is moderated
by learned responses stored in the PCM. Using stored and real-time data the PCM will operate the solenoids mounted in the main control (valve) body to
perform automatic upshifts and downshifts.
Refer to the Solenoid Operation Chart.
