Push the new lock tab into the cable adjustor only half way, Figures 3 and 4.

Adjust the shift system according to the service manual before fully seating the new locking tab.

NOTE:
BE SURE THE CABLE BODY IS SECURE IN THE TRANSMISSION BRACKET AFTER SERVICE IS COMPLETE. SEE FIGURE 4.

CAUTION:
IF THE LOCKING TAB WAS NOT FULLY SEATED, IT MAY HAVE TAKEN A PERMANENT SET. THEREFORE, DO NOT REUSE THE
LOCKING TAB.
