This article is being republished in its entirety to add new procedures and parts for 1992/93 model year Ranger.
ISSUE:
A "growling/clicking" noise may occur when the clutch pedal is depressed during shifting. The noise worsens with increasing engine speed. A vibration
in the clutch pedal may also be felt. This condition is caused by engine vibrations being transmitted by the hydraulic line assembly.
ACTION:
Inspect the vehicle and, if necessary, install a new hydraulic line service kit with a rubber damper section in the hydraulic line assembly. Refer to the
following procedure for service details. Refer to Figure 1.
