The disc brake caliper housings contain caliper pistons. The caliper pistons have molded rubber dust boots on the outer ends that are pressed into a
caliper bore groove to prevent caliper bore contamination. There is also a rectangular section rubber piston seal located in the caliper bore providing
sealing between the caliper bore cylinder and the caliper pistons. This seal also causes the caliper pistons to retract slightly once the brakes are released.
