Normal Operation
The parking lamp relay is integrated into, and controlled by, the Smart Junction Box (SJB). When the headlamp switch is placed in the PARKING
LAMPS ON position, the headlamp switch routes voltage to the SJB. When the SJB receives the voltage signal from the headlamp switch, the parking
lamp relay is energized and voltage is routed to the parking lamps, the trailer tow connector and the instrument panel dimmer switch.

DTC B2261 (Park Lamp Switch Failure) - an on-demand DTC that sets when the SJB detects a short to voltage from the parking lamps on request
input circuit.
This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:

Wiring, terminals or connectors
-
Headlamp switch
-
SJB
PINPOINT TEST M: THE PARKING, REAR AND LICENSE PLATE LAMPS ARE ALWAYS ON
NOTICE: Use the correct probe adapter(s) when making measurements. Failure to use the correct probe adapter(s) may damage the
connector.

M1 CHECK THE RECORDED DTCs FROM THE SJB SELF-TEST

Ignition OFF.
-
Check the recorded results from the SJB self-test.

Is DTC B2261 present?
Yes
GO to M2.
No
GO to M4.

M2 CHECK THE HEADLAMP SWITCH

Disconnect: Headlamp Switch C205.
-
Do the parking lamps continue to illuminate?
Yes
