When the affected vehicles are operated in severe lowambient temperatures ( - 20 ~F/ - 29 ~C or lower), the automatic transmission may overheat and be
damaged as a result of restricted fluid flow through the auxiliary cooler caused by the thickening of transmission fluid.
If transmission service or replacement is required due to transmission damage, the auxiliary transmission oil cooler (7A095) should be replaced as
shown:

The new auxiliary transmission oil cooler assembly (7A095) contains an internal bypass to prevent excessive cooling of the transmission fluid which
allows a portion of the transmission fluid to flow unrestricted through the cooler in extreme cold weather operations. The new oil cooler does not affect
the flow of fluid during vehicle operations under normal or warm weather conditions.
