Cold Start Cable - Hard Cold Starting

DIESEL COLD START PULL CABLE DIAGNOSIS AND REPLACEMENT
LIGHT TRUCKS 1983 RANGER
If engine cold starting is difficult, the cold start cable may not be functioning properly. Perform the following inspection:

Cycle the cold-start knob in and out. If the knob can be slid in and out with no resistance, inspect the cable sleeve section for cracks or breakage
(in the engine compartment).
