Installing Bearing Cups (Typical)
1. If inner or outer bearing cups were removed, install replacement inner and outer bearing cups in the hub with the appropriate bearing cup replacer
tool. Be sure to seat the cups properly in the hub. The cups will be properly seated when they are fully bottomed. Polish grease retainer journal on
spindle with 400 grit sandpaper. Clean with clean cloth. Replace grease retainers.
2. Pack the inside of the hub with lithium-base grease or equivalent. Fill the hub until the grease is flush with the inside diameters of both bearing
cups. Pack the bearing cones and rollers with wheel bearing grease. Use a bearing packer for this operation. If a packer is not available, work as
much lubricant as possible between the rollers and cages. Lubricate the cone surfaces with grease.

3. Place the inner bearing in the inner cup and install the new grease seal. Be sure that the seal is fully seated.
4. Install the hub/rotor on the wheel spindle. Keep the hub centered on the spindle to prevent damage to the grease retainer or the spindle threads.
5. Place the outer bearing in the outer cup.
6. Install the inner locknut.
7. Tighten the inner locknut to 47 Nm (35 ft lb) while turning the rotor in the opposite direction to seat bearings.
8. Spin the rotor and back off the inner locknut one-quarter turn. Retighten the inner locknut to 1.8 Nm (16 in lb).
9. Install the lockwasher on the spindle.
NOTICE: If necessary, tighten inner locknut slightly to align the locknut pin with lockwasher hole.
10. Install the outer wheel bearing locknut using locknut wrench. Tighten locknut to 203 Nm (150 ft lb).
11. Check the end play of the wheel and tire assembly on the spindle. Final end play should be 0.00-0.08 mm (0.000-0.003 in). The maximum torque
to rotate the hub is 2.8 Nm (25 in lb).
12. Install the axle shaft spacer.
13. Clip the snap ring onto the end of the spindle shaft.
