Removal and Installation
1.
CAUTION: Prior to removal of the generic electronic module (GEM), it is necessary to upload module configuration information to the diagnostic
tool. This information needs to be downloaded into the new module once installed.
Depower the supplemental restraint system (SRS).

Remove the radio chassis.
3.
Remove the center instrument panel finish panel.

Remove the screws.
2.
Remove the center instrument panel finish panel. Disconnect electrical connectors.
4.
Remove the generic electronic module (GEM).

Remove the screw.
2.
Disconnect the two connectors from the GEM.
3.
Remove the GEM.
5.
CAUTION: Once the new module is installed, it is necessary to download the module configuration information from the diagnostic tool into the
new module.
To install, reverse the removal procedure.
Check for correct operation.
