Could Create Liability Under Applicable Federal Or Local Laws.
If one of the above mentioned vehicles/engine calibrations experiences a fluff or backfire in the exhaust on deceleration, the following reroute of the
thermactor air control may be applied to alleviate the concern;
1.
Remove the vacuum connector from the nipple on top of E1TE-9F491-AB exhaust air supply control valve.
2.
Insert vacuum delay valve D3OE-12A189-BA into the open vacuum connector just removed.
NOTE:
The black side of the vacuum delay valve is to face the connector.
3.
Obtain and insert one end of formed hose (EOZE12226-AA1) onto the orange side of the vacuum delay valve.
4.
Insert the opposite end of this vacuum hose onto the nipple of the exhaust air control valve.
Obtain an Authorized Modifications decal and list the date, dealer number and alterations performed as shown. Select a prominent place adjacent to the
Vehicle Emission Control Information decal suitable for installing the Authorized Modifications decal. Clean the area, install the decal and cover it with
a clear plastic decal shield.
