GAUGE - TEMPERATURE - READS HIGH - VEHICLES WITH 3.0L AND 4.0L ENGINES BUILT BEFORE 1/1/93
LIGHT TRUCK:
1992-93 AEROSTAR, EXPLORER, RANGER
ISSUE:
The temperature gauge may display high temperature indications. This may be caused by the temperature gauge.
ACTION:
Perform normal diagnostic procedures and, if necessary, replace the temperature gauge. Refer to the following procedure for service details.
1.
Follow the normal diagnostic procedures outlined in the Service Manual.
2.
If the diagnostics lead to a "No Trouble Found", replace the temperature gauge. Refer to the Parts Block in this article for correct parts usage.
Refer to the appropriate Service Manual, Section 13-00, for the removal and installation procedure.
NOTE:
THESE PARTS WILL ONLY CORRECT FOR HIGH TEMPERATURE INDICATION, NOT GAUGE FLUCTUATION CONCERNS.
