Spark Plug: Service and Repair

Spark Plug Wire Remover

Special Tool(s)

REMOVAL

1.Use the special tool with a twisting motion to pull the spark plug wire off of the spark plug.

CAUTION:

Spark plug wires must be connected properly. Mark the spark plug wires before removing them from the spark plugs.

It is important to twist the spark plug wire boots while pulling upward to avoid possible damage to the spark plug wire.

Do not use special tool on spark plug wires boots with metal heat shields. Damage to spark plug wire boot may occur.

2. Remove the LH spark plugs.

NOTE:

Use compressed air to remove any debris in the spark plug well before removing the spark plug.

If an original spark plug is reused, make sure it is installed in the same cylinder from which it was taken. New spark plugs can be used in any
cylinder.
