Flex Plate: Service and Repair
Removal
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
2. Remove the transmission.
3. On manual transmission-equipped vehicles remove the clutch.
4. Remove the bolts and the flywheel.
Installation
1. Inspect the flywheel.
2. Install the flywheel.

Position the spacer and the flywheel.

Install the bolts.

Tighten the bolts in sequence in two steps:
1
Tighten to 12 - 15 Nm (9 - 11 ft. lbs.).
2
Tighten to 68 - 74 Nm (50 - 55 ft. lbs.).
3. On manual transmission-equipped vehicles, install the clutch.
4. Install the transmission.
5. Connect the battery ground cable.
