Flywheel: Service and Repair
Removal and Installation
Removal
1. Remove the disc and pressure plate.
2. Install the flywheel holding tool and remove the flywheel-to-crankshaft bolts. Remove the flywheel.
Installation
1. Inspect the flywheel for cracks, hot spots and scoring. If damage is found to the flywheel friction surface, machine flywheel friction surface. If
damage found to the ring gear teeth, replace ring gear.
2. NOTE: Apply Threadlock and Sealer EOAZ-19554-AA or equivalent meeting Ford specification WSK-M2G351-A5 to flywheel-to-crankshaft
bolt threads before installation.
Position the flywheel onto the crankshaft and install the flywheel-to-crankshaft bolts.
3. Tighten the bolts in sequence to specification.
4. Install the disc and pressure plate.
