ISSUE
The driver's and/or passenger's door glass may "chatter" when operating the window in down mode. This may be caused by a lack of lubrication on the
glass guide bracket assembly.
ACTION
Replace the glass guide bracket with a new bracket. The revised bracket has a type of lubricant that reduces resistance of the two metals when rubbing
against each other. This should help reduce the possibility of window chatter. Refer to the following Service Procedure for details.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
1.
Lower the window and stop at about half way down.
2.
Disconnect the battery-ground cable.
3.
Remove the interior door trim panel. Refer to the appropriate Ranger Service/Workshop Manual and Figure 1.
4.
Drill out the two (2) door glass rivets.
5.
It is not necessary to remove the door glass. Manually move the glass to the full up position and secure glass to frame with tape or clamps.
