5. Remove the tailgate latch.
1. Remove the bolts.
2. Remove the tailgate latch.

Remove the tailgate latch release link.
INSTALLATION
1. To install, reverse the removal procedure
NOTE: Prior to installation, remove the slack in the tailgate latch release link by pulling the tailgate latch release link to the center of the tailgate.
Close the tailgate latch rod retainer over the thread of the tailgate latch release link.
