Thermostat: Service and Repair
Removal
1. Drain the cooling system.
2. Remove the upper radiator hose from the water outlet connection.
3. Remove the bolts, the water outlet connection and the water thermostat.
4. CAUTION: Use care when scraping thermostat housing-to-gasket mating surfaces. Gouges in aluminum could from leak paths.
Discard the gasket and clean the sealing surfaces.
Installation
1. NOTE: Make sure the sealing surfaces are totally free of gasket material.
Follow the removal procedure in reverse order.
2. Fill and bleed the cooling system.
3. Start the engine and check for coolant leaks.
