Ranger 4WD V6-4.0L (2009)
An OCS system service kit has the electrical connector glued to the module, it cannot and should not be disconnected or altered.
NOTE: The air bag warning indicator illuminates when the correct Restraints Control Module (RCM) fuse is removed and the ignition is ON.
NOTE: The Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) must be fully operational and free of faults before releasing the vehicle to the customer.
NOTE: When installing a new OCS system service kit, refer to Air Bag Systems for the OCS removal and installation procedure.
All seats
1. Remove the front seat. For additional information, refer to Seat - Front See: Service and Repair/Front Seats/Seat - Front.
2. Remove the backrest. For additional information, refer to Seat Backrest - Front, Bucket and 40 Percent See: Seat Back/Service and
Repair/Removal and Replacement/Seat Backrest - Front, Bucket and 40 Percent.
3. Release the cushion trim cover rear J-clip from the seat cushion.
Passenger seat
4. NOTE: For correct installation, note position of wire harness routing.
Release the wire harness and electrical connector retainers from the seat cushion frame.
All seats
5. Remove the 4 seat track-to-cushion frame bolts and remove the seat track assembly from the cushion frame.
Driver seat
6. Remove the 2 screws and seat position sensor.
All seats
7. NOTE: For correct installation, note routing of the seat backrest latch release cable through the seat cushion frame.
Detach the pin-type retainer and remove the backrest latch release cable.
8. Release the remaining cushion trim cover J-clips.

If driver seat, remove the cushion frame from the foam pad and cushion trim cover.
