3. Drain transmission fluid.

Remove all the transmission fluid pan screws except for 2 in the front. Loosen the 2 front transmission fluid pan screws. Pry the rear of the
transmission fluid pan down and allow fluid to drain. After fluid is drained, remove the front 2 transmission fluid pan screws.

4. NOTE: The transmission fluid gasket is reusable. Clean and inspect for damage, if not damaged, the gasket should be reused.

Remove the transmission fluid pan.

5. Remove the transmission fluid pan gasket.

6. Remove the transmission fluid filter screw.

7. Remove the transmission fluid filter.

8. Clean and inspect the transmission fluid pan and magnet. Clean all mating surfaces.

Installation

1. NOTICE: Lubricate fluid filter O-ring seals with transmission fluid or they may be damaged.

Lubricate and install new O-ring seals onto the transmission fluid filter.

2. Position the transmission fluid filter on the main control valve body.

3. Install the transmission fluid filter screw.

Tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).

4. Position the fluid pan magnet in the transmission fluid pan.

5. NOTE: The transmission fluid pan gasket is reusable. Clean and inspect for damage, it not damaged, the gasket should be reused.

Position the transmission fluid pan gasket on the transmission fluid pan.

6. Install and align the transmission fluid pan.

7. Loosely install the transmission fluid pan screws.

8. Tighten the transmission fluid pan screws in a crisscross pattern.

Tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).

9. If equipped, position the servo heat shield over the servos and clip it to the transmission fluid pan rail.

Tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).

10. NOTE: Start with a minimum of 3.7L (4 qt) transmission fluid.

Fill transmission with transmission fluid to the correct level.

11. Apply the park brake and start the engine.

12. Move the selector lever through all the gears.

13. Check the transmission fluid level.
