General Equipment
Transmission jack
  1. Refer to: Gesundheits- und Sicherheitsvorkehrungen (100-00 Allgemeine Informationen, Description and Operation).
  1. Remove the following items:
    1. Air Filtering
      Refer to: Luftfilter (303-12 Ansaugsystem - 1.8L Duratorq-TDCi (Lynx) Diesel, Removal and Installation).
    1. Battery
      Refer to: Batterie (414-01 Batterie, Befestigung und Batteriekabel, Removal and Installation).

  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:The gearshift cables must not be kinked or twisted.

  1. Remove the following items:
    1. Subframe
      Refer to: Vorderer Hilfsrahmen (502-00 Selbstragende Karosserie, Rahmen und Anbausystem, Removal and Installation).
    1. Driveshafts
      Refer to: Antriebswelle vorn links (205-04 Vorderradantriebswellen, Removal and Installation).
      Refer to: Antriebswelle vorn rechts (205-04 Vorderradantriebswellen, Removal and Installation).
    1. catalytic converter
      Refer to: Katalysator (309-00 Auspuffsystem - Allgemeine Informationen - 1.8L Duratorq-TDCi (Lynx) Diesel, Removal and Installation).

  1. Detach the starter motor from the transmission and position it to one side.

  1. Install the Special Tool(s): 303-290B, 303-290-13, 303-290B-15, 303-290B-16

  1. Install the Special Tool(s): 303-290B-15

  1. Install the Special Tool(s): 303-290B-15

  1. Discard the rear engine mounting bolt.

  1. Support the transmission with a wooden block and secure it to the transmission jack using a retaining strap.
    General Equipment: Transmission jack

  1. Support the transmission using the transmission jack and remove.
