General Procedures

  1. Raise the vehicle. For additional information, refer to Section  100-02 Jacking and Lifting.

  1. Detach the heat shields.

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Washer
    Detach the shift rod and the shift rod stabiliser.

    1. Washer

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:If the gearshift stabiliser cannot be fitted free from stress, loosen the engine/transmission mounting and align the engine/transmission so that it can.. Do not tighten the shift rod clamp.
    Fit the stabilizer and shift rod.

    1. Washer
  1. Tighten the engine/transmission mounting. For additional information, refer to Section  303-01B Engine.

  1. Adjust the gearshift mechanism.
    • Engage fourth gear. From the neutral position, push the shift rod inwards until it reaches a stop.
    • Hold the gear lever in the fourth gear position with a 9 mm drill shaft.

  1. Tighten the shift rod.
    • Pull the drill bit out of the gearshift housing.

  1. Fit the heat shields.
  1. Lower the vehicle.
