Removal and Installation

Removal

  1. Remove the front seat.
    For additional information, refer to Front Seat - in this section.

  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:If equipped with manual height adjust, make sure that the seat cushion is in the fully raised position to relieve the tension on the height assistance rods.
    NOTE:
    NOTE:The height assistance rods are handed. Note the position of the height assistance rods, to aid installation.
    Remove the upper height assistance rod (if equipped).
    1. Using a suitable pair of pliers, release the upper rod from the height adjuster link.
    1. Remove the rod from the seat base.

  1. Remove the lower height assistance rod (if equipped).
    1. Using a suitable pair of pliers, release the lower rod from the height adjuster link.
    1. Remove the rod from the seat base.

  1. Detach the wiring harness from the seat base.
    • Release the clip.

  1. Disconnect the cushion heater mat electrical connector (if equipped).

  1. Remove the seat cushion.

  1. Remove the cushion cover and pad.
    • Cut the hog rings.

  1. Remove the cushion cover.
    1. Roll the cushion cover inwards to access the pleating hog rings.
    1. Cut the hog rings.

  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:When removing the cushion heater mat take care not to damage the cushion pad.
    Remove the cushion heater mat (if equipped).

Installation

  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
    • Use hog ring pliers to close the hog rings. Do not use any other tool. The hog rings must be closed to overlap as illustrated.
