Removal and Installation
Removal
All Vehicles
Standard preparatory measures.
CAUTION:
Disconnect the battery negative lead.
Note the radio keycode.
Make a note of the programmed radio stations.
Lay protective covers over the fenders.
Open the hood.
Detach the cowl grille.
Remove the rubber seal.
Remove the bolts.
NOTE:
The wiper linkage must be in park position.
Detach the wiper arms.
Fold up the plastic caps and undo the nuts two turns.
Fold back the wiper arms and release them from the taper by moving them sideways.
Remove the nuts and take off the wiper arms.
Remove the cowl grille.
Disconnect the windscreen washer hose.
Only for vehicles with power steering.
NOTE:
Do not drain the PAS reservoir.
Detach the PAS reservoir and lay it to one side.
All vehicles.
NOTE:
Do not empty the coolant expansion tank.
Detach the coolant expansion tank and lay it to one side.
Remove the bulkhead extension.
Unclip the plug of the engine wiring loom and the engine wiring loom.
Unclip the relay.
Remove the bulkhead extension (continued).
Remove eight bolts.
NOTE:
Mark the positions of the windscreen washer hoses when removing them.
Remove the washer system together with the washer reservoir.
Disconnect the plug from the windscreen washer pump.
Remove the bolts.
Disconnect the plug from the wiper motor.
Disconnect the hoses from the windscreen washer pump.
Detach the windscreen washer reservoir.
Mark the position of the crank lever in relation to the plate.
Remove the wiper motor and the crank lever.
NOTE:
Lock the wiper motor lever when slackening the nut.
Remove the nut.
Remove the bolts.
Installation
NOTE:
The wiper linkage must be in park position.
Attach the wiper motor and lever.
Tighten three bolts.
Fit the wiper motor lever into the groove in the motor spindle and tighten the nut finger tight.
NOTE:
Lock the wiper motor lever when tightening the nut.
Tighten the nut.
Install the remaining components in reverse order.
Standard finishing operations.
Connect the battery negative lead.
Remove the protective covers.
Enter the radio keycode.
Reprogramme the preset radio stations.
Adjust the clock.
Carry out a road test to enable the PCM to collect data.
Check the operation of the wipers.
