POWER SEAT - FRONT TRACK - ROCKING MOTION DURING ACCELERATION AND BRAKING

FORD 1986 TAURUS

LINCOLN-MERCURY 1986 SABLE

A rocking motion of the power front seat during acceleration and braking may result from insufficient clamping of the seat track mechanism by the two
clevis pins and their two attaching "E" rings. This can be corrected by removal of the clevis pins and replacing them with the newly designed screws
identified in the following procedure.

1.

Remove the seat and track assembly from the vehicle. Refer to Section 41-08 in the Taurus/ Sable Car Shop Manual, 2. Remove the seat track
from the seat cushion. Refer to Section 41-08 in the Taurus/Sable Car Shop Manual.
